ABOUT HA1
The Harrow BID works closely with community groups, residents and the local authority to deliver on the key themes that were identified by our members and set out in our business plan.
A significant commercial hub in northwest London, Harrow is a well-connected town centre in the HA1 postcode area. The main shopping and business district comprises two covered shopping centres and includes 300 metres of fully pedestrianised retail street in the busy St Anns Road.
The compact and walkable area is complemented by parades of shops along Station Road and College Road, each providing cafés, restaurants and pubs. There are plenty of car parks and on street parking as well as a new Travelodge hotel making it a highly attractive destination for regular shoppers and visitors alike.
The Harrow BID works closely with community groups, residents and the local authority to deliver on the key themes that were identified by our members and set out in our business plan.
All our marketing activity – from the organisation of special, seasonal events to the creation of smaller scale promotions – is aimed at potential shoppers, demonstrating how much Harrow has to offer and giving them a compelling reason to visit.
Reducing business crime and its impact on local businesses is an important priority. Apart from the effective detection, apprehension and prosecution of offenders, we are taking measures to effectively reduce the opportunities for criminal activity.
The BID provides added value by enabling members to reduce business costs. The use of specialist procurement and economies of scale helps them to fulfil their economic and environmental ambitions as well as meeting their corporate social responsibilities.
