Harrow Council are looking to bid for two new funding opportunities to support commitment to build an inclusive, sustainable and thriving economy in Harrow. We’re asking you to take part in a consultation and engagement event to inform and develop the bid proposals so that it is informed by businesses, residents and groups.
The first funding opportunity is the GLA’s Night Time Enterprise Zone Fund which aims to create new Night Time Enterprise Zones in high streets/town centres. These zones seek to boost economic activity by extending shop and services opening hours after 6pm, increasing income and footfall in the area and giving visitors greater options for access and choice. The zones also aim to make town centres more welcoming and better places to visit in the evening. Also, if Harrow secured funding, the council would be required to produce a Night Time Strategy for the whole of the borough within two years of the funding being awarded.
The second funding opportunity is the GLA’s Business Friendly Licensing and Regulatory Fund which seeks to support businesses by making it easier to access Council’s various licensing and regulation services. What practices do we need to make more ‘friendly’ and what practical steps would make them so?
We’d like to hear your views on either or both of these, please come and join us on:
10am to 12pm, Tuesday 12th July 2022
