On Monday 12th February a new version of the Disc App will be rolled-out to the App Store and Google Play Store. Members are encouraged to update to the latest version as soon as it’s available to them.
The update allows Members to use their phones’ built-in biometric authentication features (Touch/Face ID) to log in to the Disc App. Android users may only use Touch ID (for security reasons); iPhone users may use Face ID, if their device (and version of iOS) supports it.
To take advantage of this feature, Members will need to:
- Update their Disc App to the latest version on Monday 12th Feb.
- Tap Reset Express Login PIN
- Go through the ‘Welcome’ process, entering their email address and password for Disc (note: it is currently not possible to reset a forgotten password via the App, so we recommend you include instructions about how to request a password reset email from your Disc Desktop system)
- Create a new four-digit PIN. Android users may be asked to authenticate with their fingerprint at this point.
- Enter the PIN to log in to Disc.
- Go to My Account and Security Settings.
- Scroll down to the “Touch/Face ID login” section and tap the green “Enable Touch/Face ID login” button.
- Tap “Save”.
- That’s it! From now on, the Member will be able to log in to Disc using Touch/Face ID.
- Note that a Member will need to re-enable Touch/Face ID from My Account and Security Settings if they reset their PIN in future.
