Harrow BID has been informed by Harrow Council that they want to help make Harrow Town Centre the place to be – which is great news for businesses! The exciting project to create Greenhill Place public square on the site of St Johns Road car park is gaining momentum – and we want to make sure you’re the first to know!
Highlights include:
A retail/food market with five available kiosks to attract shoppers to this part of town.
Street furniture to encourage enjoyment of the outdoors.
A play trail providing a safe area for children, while remaining flexible to host markets/ events.
A planted perimeter edge with flowering trees to create additional greenery and assist with sustainable urban drainage.
Architects will shortly be making a Planning Application for the kiosks, and carrying out a consultation for the plans to provide new parking places for visitors who currently use the St John’s Road Car Park. The work will be completed in March 2020. There is also funding available for a pop-up restaurant to open in 2020/21. Watch this space for more updates!
Greenhill Place is possible thanks to funding from the Mayor of London, and the design team led by architects CarverHaggard, who have consulted with the community to make sure it meets all our needs.
